COVID-19 has proved to be a challenging time for many, if not most, of us. Over the past few years, our team has been looking for practical ways we can help out more and love more in the community and we've spent the last few months changing the way we have been running our business ever so slightly to make it more focussed on the people we are loving on and serving. When we hit our 4th birthday, we knew there were exciting things that we wanted to bring in and changes we wanted to make to do this. (Read more about all these updates and changes in our birthday post here.)
One of these key updates is that as of August 2021, we have begun our partnership with FRCS Family Service Centre to extend support to their beneficiaries. The mission of FRCS Family Service Centre is to impact every family and individual in need through their ideals of service and above self. More specifically, E&S Blessing as well as our sponsors Christopher Huang of CHP Law LLC and Benjamin Huang of Grey Ogre Games LLP, we will be supporting two underprivileged families with groceries -- Ms A, single mother of two special needs boys aged 2 and 4, and Mdm L and her young family.
We took this chance to have a chat with Lim Shi Yan, a social worker who is working with FRCS Family Service Centre to find out more about what she does, what her job entails, and to hear the stories about the families she comes in contact with every day.
"[We intend] to support individuals, families, and communities in overcoming and coping with challenges," she says in our interview.
